Let's start with some fun facts. Lavender has been used throughout history to treat many ailments such as insomnia, colic and even in the prevention and treatment of illnesses. The medicinal benefits of this beautiful and aromatic herb cannot be beat due to its amazing antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. When used in the form of an oil and diffused into the air, this herb can alleviate migraines, create a relaxed atmosphere and set the mood for a romantic evening. Since lavender is an all natural remedy for bacterial infections, having its sweet aroma wafting throughout your home is said to reduce the chances of catching and or spreading illnesses or colds.
While it is not recommended to ingest lavender or other concentrated oils because the constant exposure to concentrated extracts can lead to other complications, using fresh or dried lavender leaves for use in cooking or preparing meals is fine. Drinking a warm cup of lavender tea or using as seasoning on an assortment of meal options is highly beneficial. Ingesting fresh or dried lavender leaves is known to help with bloating which is often caused by poor gastrointestinal health and recent antibiotic usage. The antibacterial components restore natural gut flora and in turn, reduces abdominal bloating.
As for Ellie Bean and I, we LOVE Lavender anything, especially when it comes to our nightly routine! We used lavender bath products, lavender lotions, and we diffuse lavender in her room to help her sleep at night. When Bulk Apothecary offered a Lavender Bath Bomb Kit for us to try, I was excited to give it a shot!
Every part of this beautiful kit was packaged really well and sealed tight for freshness. The recipe card was included, simple to follow, and the next time we had a rainy day... we put it all together!
The bath bombs came out a little crazy, but that's more my fault than the kit. I was a bit too anxious to use them and didn't let them set as long as I should have. We dropped the bath bomb in the tub and Ellie Bean started giggling with excitement as we watched it fizzle and explode in the bathwater. The aroma was potent, but soothing. When she got out of the tub, her skin was silky smooth and her eyes were already starting close. No sooner did I get her in her pajamas and turn on her diffuser that she was out cold. We often struggle with getting her to sleep right away, but tonight, she was asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.
I can't wait to try some of the other kits and products that Bulk Apothecary has to offer.
What are your favorite bath bomb scents? Do you love lavender too?
